A note on privacy
Most ToolOut tools run entirely in your browser. The URL Shortener is different: to make a link that resolves for anyone who clicks it, your links are stored on ToolOut’s server. They are tied to your account, never listed publicly, and only you can see or delete them.

Why do I need to sign in to create a link?+
A short link redirects visitors anywhere on the web, so each one has to be tied to an account. Requiring a free sign-in keeps the service accountable and spam-free, which protects everyone who clicks a toolout.online/s/ link.
Can I choose my own custom alias?+
Yes. You can set a custom alias like toolout.online/s/my-brand (3–32 letters, numbers, or hyphens). If it is already taken or reserved, pick another. Leave it blank and we generate a short random code for you.
Do short links expire?+
No. Your links keep working until you delete them. You can remove any link from the Your links list at any time, and it stops resolving immediately.
Can I get a QR code for my short link?+
Yes. Every link you create comes with a downloadable QR code, so you can drop it on a poster, slide, or product label and let people scan straight through to your destination.
What can I shorten?+
Any public http:// or https:// web address. You cannot shorten another ToolOut short link, and links are rate-limited per account to prevent abuse.
